1. What do I do if my RouteFinder seems slow?
A: One thing to verify is if you have POI's turned on while driving. If you live in a congested area, the number of POIs could slow down the map update. You can reduce the number of POIs by zooming in when in congested areas. Second make sure you have the latest update from out web site installed on your SD card by using the RouteFinder Update Manager available on the updates page of this site
2. Why can't I hear my RouteFinder over my FM radio?
A: Verify that the DC cable is plugged in. The DC power cord is also the FM Antenna, and the FM function will not work without the antenna (DC power cord) plugged in.
3. How can I change views while driving?
A: Views can be changed by pressing the heading button in the upper left corner of the screen. The view may be changed between 3D, 2D heading up, and 2D north up.
4. How do I obtain a list of turns?
A: You can obtain a list of turns view by simply pressing the Green Instruction Sign at the top center of the screen.
5. How do I find food or a gas station while driving?
A: RouteFinder has a simple way to access Points of Interest (POIs) such as food and fuel stops while driving: Simply press the POI button in the upper right hand corner of the main screen and select the POI category you desire. POIs can be displayed around the current location, destination, or Next Exit for convenience.
6. How do I stop or suspend a route?
A: Simply press the Trip Monitor at the bottom center of the display while routing and stop/suspend/continue buttons will appear. If you simply want to suspend a route, press the suspend button and then "resume" once you have completed your detour.
7. Why can't I enter the city that I am traveling to?
A: We are utilizing an extensive, very large database of roads, truck, and other travel information. Nevertheless, we see an occasional city that is not in our database. If you come across a city that is not recognized, please notify us via www.routefindernav.com, or just call us. Also try typing in the Zip/Postal Code of the destination you are trying to reach.
8. My unit will not acquire signal, what do I do?
A: First, restart your unit and see if it re-acquires signal. It may take up to ten minutes the first time, and up to two minutes after that. If your unit still will not acquire signal after restart, it may need its Firmware updated. Please go to our updates page and download and install the RouteFinder Update Manager and select "Update My Firmware" from the list of options.
9. How do I access settings and find locations while moving.
A: RouteFinder is designed to limit interaction while driving. Thus, the set and find menus are unavailable at speeds above 20 MPH. You must pull over to find a route or change a setting.
10. How to I increase sound or change screen illumination?
A: Some settings, such as display, video, and sound, are always available at the right of the screen.
11. All of my buttons disappeared; where did they go?
A: In order to simplify the user interface, the buttons will disappear after a certain amount of time, by default, and will not re-appear until the screen is touched. This feature can be turned off in the display settings menu.
12. I would like to customize my screen to reduce the number of features on the screen, such as the speed, how do I do this?

13. Can I set the handless phone to "auto-answer?"
A: Yes. Press the Phone icon at the left of the screen and then press "Settings". You can then turn "auto-answer" on.
14. What do I do if my RouteFinder does not find my bluetooth phone.
A: Clear your phone of “Trusted Devices” and attempt to find the phone as a device again, pairing the GPS to the phone.
